Thousands of foreign buyers invested in French tourist residences under commercial lease structures. Many now face unpaid rents, abusive terminations, or insolvent operators. I represent their interests before French courts, including under the new legal framework governing tourist-residence commercial leases.

French civil procedure is demanding and strategically intricate. I guide clients through every stage, from pleadings to final judgment, with particular attention to case theory, limitation periods, and the management of adversarial exchange.

The Tourist Residence Crisis

Tens of thousands of foreign buyers — British, Belgian, Irish, American, Australian — purchased apartments in French tourist residences on promises of guaranteed rental income. The reality was otherwise: insolvent operators, unilateral lease terminations, insolvency proceedings. The French and international press documented this widely. The law has since evolved to better regulate new commercial leases, but disputes arising from earlier contracts remain legally complex and require expert intervention.
